Goddess Gathering News!

"GET FIT GODDESS!" BOOTCAMP

Beginning on June 8th, Tomiko and her trainer, Tarik Tyler (www.tariktyler.com) will host a bootcamp like you've never experienced before. They will work to get both your body and your spirit in Goddess shape.

The cost is $18 per session (cash only). If this first month is a success, we will continue having classes.

When: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in June from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Where: Pan Pacific Park, 7600 Beverly Blvd, LA, CA 90036 (meet in the grassy area near the baseball field) Free parking available on site.

Bring: Bottled water and a towel

Please arrive shortly before 5:30 p.m. as we will begin on time.

Tomiko Fraser's Goddess Gathering Inspires Women Of All Ages!

TFGG did double duty on Saturday, May 23rd. First, we held our very first Gathering for pre-teen and teenage age girls at the Audubon School in Los Angeles. The girls are participants in a program called “Phenom”, co-created by our Goddess sister, Erickka SySavane`. Phenom is a mentoring program created to inspire pre-teen and teen girls to reach their full potential through a series or workshops.

The topic for this Gathering was “You Define You!” We asked the girls to share with us some of the negative things that people have said to them that has affected them and their self-worth. Every one of them had a litany of uninspiring and hurtful things to share that others have said to them. Needless to say, our hearts went out to them.

We illustrated the effect of this topic by having the girls write the negative words and phrases on an outline of a woman they drew. The discussion that followed brought up many feelings and emotions – anger, disappointment, sorrow, confusion, and pain. We then asked the girls to draw another outline of a woman and write ALL of the positive things THEY feel about themselves. Wow!!! Some of them used up all of the blank space on their posterboard! The sharing that followed was filled with joy, praise, laughter, and a new outlook on life.

All of us at TFGG want to thank those brave young girls for sharing so freely and for taking steps towards become a truly empowered woman – a Goddess. We applaud you!



We then held our monthly Gathering with our Goddess sisters at our new home – the beautiful Hotel Palomar in Westwood, Los Angeles.

I’d like to welcome all of the new Goddesses who joined us. We had about 10 lovely new Goddesses join the fold. We are growing and our message of female empowerment is spreading like wildfire!

Our topic was “Space to BE”. At the Goddess Gathering, one of our goals is that women feel safe to let their hair down, share, vent, exhale, laugh, cry, and just BE. Our ultimate goal is that women have this space in their everyday lives, not just at the Gatherings. Before we started the prepared exercise, several women shared ways in which they are stuck, fearful, and just uninspired. We then took turns answering questions picked from a bowl meant to encourage forward moving conversation and action. We realized that there is much more BEING available to us if we just take that first, sometimes scary, step. We encourage “jumping in” because your Goddess sisters are your “net”. You won’t fall because we’re here to catch you.

Thanks to all of the Goddesses, new and old, that shared and inspired everyone in the group. I know we all left that Gathering feeling lighter, brighter and more alive.

We continued the Goddess bonding over appetizers and drinks at Hotel Palomar’s restaurant/lounge, BLVD 16. The Goddesses know how to have a good time!!!

Childcare Now Available At The Goddess Gathering!

Beginning with our June 27, 2009 Goddess Gathering, we are happy to announce that childcare will be provided.

We have secured a licensed childcare professional to take care of the children while the Gathering is taking place. Geney Warner from "Geney's Little Blessings, Curriculum Based Family & Child Care" will be taking care of the children in a room right next door to where the Gathering is taking place. They will receive a light snack and be entertained by such things as educational DVD's and/ or movie, story time, and game playing.

The cost is $20 per child. This will cover your child's care by the licensed professional, a snack and entertainment for the duration of the Gathering, (1:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.). Please note, there must be a minimum of 3 children to be able to provide this service. Goddess Moms may contact our Event Coordinator, Ailia Coley-McKinney, directly to reserve a spot for their child/children at events@tomikosgoddessgathering.com. Please be prepared to provide the name and age of each child and any special instructions or dietary needs.

We require all requests be received by June 20, 2009 for our June Gathering.

Goddess Plans for 2009!

* This year, we are taking our show on the road! We will be working with women's organizations in our community and spreading the message of empowerment with these lovely ladies. If you know of an organization that we could meet with, please let us know.
