Welcome to the inside of my head!!!! My journal is a place where I let my thoughts off their leash and they get to run free. Unafraid of what others might think, feel, or say. Here I will be sharing with you everything that is important to me. That could be anything from the state of our beloved planet to my new favorite nail polish. Do your thoughts have a playground where they can let loose and be free? I invite you to "gift" yourself and your thoughts by keeping a journal. You never know what new and fun things you might find in there.Tomiko

The Unenlightened/Enlightened "Dozens"

2009-11-04

Do you ladies know what the "Dozens" are? It's basically a "Yo Momma" game that kids or teenage boys play (and unfortunately, sometimes grown men). It's not very nice, but usually pretty funny. Well, I've come up with a variation that I wanted to share with you.

A friend was sharing her current place of darkness with me recently. Without going into details, she wasn't feeling very good about herself or her life. After hearing the pain that she was in, an idea struck me. I, too, have not been feeling real "shiny" lately. So I suggested that we "self-trash" ourselves - my variation of the Dozens. The rule was that we had to share the negative things we were feeling about ourselves, life, etc. with no enlightenment attached.

For the next 30 minutes, we took turns telling each other the horrible things about our life, body, situations, etc. The other would agree with what was shared and say something like "That's F'd up" or "You're a mess" or any other unenlightened, "misery loves company" thing we could think of. Whew! Boy were we good at that game! After about 15 minutes, this actually started to become funny to us and we ended up laughing about the things we were sharing. Now mind you, when we started this "game", we were quite serious and heavy about it. I mean, in our minds, our lives were a mess and we couldn't see anything but the mess.

After that round, I introduced the next part of the game. We then had to share with each other as many wonderful and enlightened things about ourselves that we could think of. The rule was to be big, proud and bold about how great we are. Now that was fun!!! We began to see that even with all of the "darkness" we have in our lives right now, we are still amazing! Wow!

I can honestly say that I feel lighter today, both emotionally and spiritually. I learned that sometimes we just have to air out our heaviness. Instead of carrying it around on our own because we don't want to burden someone or because we think that by speaking on it, we will cause it to perpetuate. That's not it at all. I think we have to purge ourselves of what is holding us down and back by vocalizing it. Then you can move forward unencumbered by the weight of the darkness. You know what I mean?

So I lovingly share this new game with all of you, my Goddess sisters. Get together with a trusted friend or group of friends and let it rip! But be sure to do second part of the game just as enthusiastically and have your friends support the great things you say about yourself and your life.

Remember, life IS what we SAY it is. We create our existence with our words. It is absolutely normal to have bad days, but remember that things can change just by your saying so.

It's all part of the journey ladies! Don't worry, you are not alone. The Goddesses and I are here to remind you of the truth of who you REALLY are.

Keep Shining!
