Once a month, I will feature a woman, historical or modern day, who exemplifies what it means to be an empowered woman in her own unique way. Her story will inspire and guide you as you learn to unearth your own inner Goddess.

Our very own Goddess Ailia (last month's Goddess Spotlight holder) submitted this nomination. Read on for a loving tribute to an amazing woman. Tomiko

Geney is my friend and takes care of my son at her daycare center, Geney's Little Blessings.

I can't tell you how long we have been friends because I think she was my friend before I was hers. I was looking at some old photos recently, right around the time I got married and there in the background was Geney. I didn't notice her too much then, not because I didn't love and appreciate her friendship, but because she has such a quiet spirit about her. Her presence is almost calming. Talking to her is like hearing a whisper in your ear; you better pay attention or you'll miss something important.

Geney has been there for me before I had my son, but one of the main reasons she deserves to be acknowledged as a Goddess is for her love and care of my one and only son, Kingston. When I was pregnant, I was driving home and had a panic attack because I suddenly realized I did not have anyone in my life I could rely on to take care of my child while my husband and I worked. I was crying and then I remembered something about a daycare at my friend Geney's house. As reluctant as I was, I called her and asked if when my baby was born, would she keep him when I went back to work and she lovingly said, "We will make room for your baby." It was like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders.

Not only does she take care of Kingston like he is her own child, she is so gentle with me and all my frantic new mother whoas.

One of the other reasons she is a Goddess is because she is a great example of a mother. I look at her beautiful daughter with her high energy and pure spirit and pray that my son has that same spunk when he is older.

Geney motivates me without even saying a word. She is STRONG and positive, even in the most adverse situations. She supports me in my work and helps me be successful by being so flexible. Geney is the best listener I know and she encouraged me by just being herself. She is subtle but honest and sooooo patient. I am extremely blessed and honored to know her and thank GOD everyday that she is my friend.

Love and Hugs to Ms. Geney and thank you for being a wonderful friend and mother.

Ailia
