Once a month, I will feature a woman, historical or modern day, who exemplifies what it means to be an empowered woman in her own unique way. Her story will inspire and guide you as you learn to unearth your own inner Goddess.
Want to share another empowered woman's story? Please submit your Goddess Spotlight nomination by clicking on the link on this page.
It seems that we have some shy Goddesses out there. Not one of you nominated yourself for our Goddess Spotlight. : ( So, I'm taking this opportunity to highlight some very special Goddesses in my life - my best friends!Tomiko

My best friends, Angie, Erickka & Sandy, are more like sisters to me than friends. Each one of them brings something special and unique to my life. That is why I've chosen to "highlight" them this month. They are all Goddesses for a number of reasons.
Erickka brings silliness to my life. Since the day we met many years ago, she has filled my life with love and laughter. Erickka is a Goddess because she is so colorful and filled with creativity. She can turn an old skirt into a dress that most designers would want in their collection. She is a model, actress, writer, and all around Renaissance woman. Erickka inspires me with her childlike freedom and womanly outlook.
Angie brings divinity to my life. She constantly reminds me of what my "calling" is when I forget (I have my bad days too). By her words and her example, she keeps me lifted in good times and bad. Now don't go thinking that Angie is the serious type. She is very professional when necessary, but that woman cracks me up every time with the variety of voices she's able to do. What a gift she has! Angie is a Goddess because she is a true friend, through thick and thin.
Sandy brings security to my life. I don't mean like a bodyguard (though she has threatened to hurt some folks that did me wrong). I mean that I feel safe with her. I feel safe sharing myself completely with her. I feel safe knowing that she's around. I feel safe because she has nothing but my highest good and happiness at heart. Again, she is just as silly as the other two. We've been known to have ongoing laugh attacks for no apparent reason. The woman is funny! Sandy is a Goddess because she takes care of those she loves.
I am very blessed to have these amazing women in my life. I only hope that I bring as much joy to them as they do to me. Love you ladies!

All I can say is thanks a million times. What a wonderful reminder to everyone to say thanks to your friends.
You know you bring joy, honesty and the example that you can have anything that you desire. You're a constant inspiration and the true meaning of a friend.I know we'll still be laughing when we're old and grey-well, at least old.
How much did I say I'd pay you for spotlighting me?:)
Love always,
Erickka

Tomiko-
I agree with Terracottaangel- "You were made to guide and lead armies of compassionate, giving, talented and powerful world changers."
I am so blessed to have met you all those years ago at the Lupus Foundation of America function in DC. I still chuckle that you thought I was 16- when I believe I was 31 at the time. Thank you- HA HA-
You have done so much for so many, especially lupus patients such as your sister and myself. For that I will always be so very grateful.
Bless you- Tomiko.
