Once a month, I will feature a woman, historical or modern day, who exemplifies what it means to be an empowered woman in her own unique way. Her story will inspire and guide you as you learn to unearth your own inner Goddess.

Sharae' is truly an example of stepping into the unknown and making the best of one's situation. She continues to amaze me with her growth. While it is not easy for her to understand all of the changes she is experiencing, she is courageous and fully committed to letting her wonderful qualities out for the world to see. Sharae' rarely, if ever, misses a gathering and always fully participates. She is hungry for the wisdom of the group but also adds to the gatherings by her participation and burgeoning "Goddess" enthusiasm. Sharae' is a Goddess! -Tomiko
Sharae' says: Since joining Tomiko Fraser's Goddess Gathering (TFGG), my whole L.A. experience has done a complete 180.
I moved to L.A. to pursue an entertainment career in August 2005 with no friends, no family, and no sense of community. And that did not bother me one bit. Honestly. L.A. was new, exciting, and filled with so many possibilities that I had enough going on to keep two people busy.
Then the novelty wore off. A few months later, I was doing extra work to pay my bills, pounding the "audition" pavement and beginning to succumb to all the insecurities I swore I'd never let affect me. Though I never once considered giving up, I did become discouraged about how I was going to happily survive L.A. until my "big break."
In September 2006, as a result of a chance encounter with an acting classmate, I was introduced to TFGG. Jokingly (but not really), I let it be known that my acting career was headed to a place that shall remain nameless, and that I needed a support group. The Universe (which I knew NOTHING about at the time) immediately responded...
In my one year of being a Goddess, my perspective on my career, social, and personal life has COMPLETELY changed for the better. No one waved a magic wand and gave me a 7-figure job, complete with a new home and all the healthy relationships I've longed for for years. TFGG gave me something better. A sense of empowerment. Resilience. Support. Unity. Sisterhood. Sincerity. Guidance. Patience. Believe me, I can go on.
I feel so connected. I feel like all of my goals are REALLY possible here in L.A., or anywhere else I so choose. I've been introduced to a group of beautiful, successful, loving women who have problems and insecurities like everyone else. Yet they have the perseverance and determination to figure out this thing called life and the willingness to share these lessons with me, and I with them.
Being one of the youngest Goddesses, I am so, so fortunate to have come into such an amazing group at this early stage of my life.

Thanks for sharing this inspirational and heart warmig story! I know that it is not always easy for us as women and "fixers" of whatever the problem is to admit we a re insecure, lonely, feeling less than, or found our selves in a place we have no idea how we arrived at or how to get out of. Sharae's willingness to be open and honest about her life experience in toucing and encouraging to me as a middle ages woman who has "been there done that" to keep the faith and be supportive of those that may not have the same experiences in life that I have had.
I appreciate and am grateful to all of the "Sharae's" out there that are not afraid to be open and honest!! You rock!!!
